How to choose your perfect brush...

With a tremendous number of different hairbrushes currently available in the market, it might not always be easy to decide on the best option for your hair.

To help you choose an ideal brush for your hair type and your styling needs, we have created this simple guide below, which is based on the size, shape, function as well as the bristle type of the brush. We do hope you find the guide handy. If still not sure though, please do not hesitate to contact us and we’d be very happy to assist you.

Brush Size

The right brush size is very important. As a general rule, the longer the hair, the bigger the brush. Why? While shorter hair is more easily controlled with a smaller brush, long hair usually gets tangled up in a brush that is too small.

Brush Shape

The right brush shape is essential. Brushes tend to fall into two main categories: flat and round. Choosing the right shape for you depends on whether you’re trying to flatten your hair or to create volume.

Flat brushes are made for detangling and smoothing the hair down – perfect for those with coarse, thick hair looking for deflation rather than inflation.

Round brushes create body, lift, shape and bend - qualities that people with fine hair are trying to achieve.

Superbrush

The bristles of this brush are very flexible. They are ideal for easy and gentle detangling of wet or dry hair. The rounded soft tips of the bristles are very gentle on the scalp, too.

When used on wet hair, the time your hair is most prone to damage, it helps to gently distribute hair conditioner, allowing water flow.

When used to dry hair, the patented “beehive” structure allows better airflow and dissipates heat – your hair dries faster without excess heat exposure.

Natural Boar-bristle Brush

This brush gives hair the most shine. The bristles actually redistribute the oils from your scalp throughout the hair shaft, giving hair that healthy, glossy shine. It is ideal for smoothing coarse, frizzy, and curly hair.

Nylon-bristle Brush

Nylon bristles are nice for straightening. Nylon-bristle brush is the best for straight hairstyles, or any time you want hair to lay flat. The bristles are usually spaced farther apart than boar and achieve a medium-to-strong grip on all hair types, especially those with fine to medium strands.

Mixed-bristle Brush

This brush is a perfect solution for all hair types. Nylon bristles glide through the hair gently detangling and straightening the stands, while natural boar bristles redistribute the oils from your scalp throughout the hair shaft adding that natural glossy shine for healthier looking hair.

Air-cushioned/Pneumatic Brush

Fine, thin, or fragile (read damaged) hair needs more tender loving care. Air-cushioned/pneumatic brushes, which feature bristles secured into a bed that’s cushioned with air, gives in a little to reduce tension when you’re brushing.

Heat Resistant Round Brush

A heat resistant barrel of this brush maintains a healthy level of heat to aid in faster drying but avoid excess heat exposure. The brush also has holes through the barrel to allow warm air to circulate through hair and down to the roots for faster drying. Less drying time means healthier hair.
